Jeremy Kilburn

Jeremy Kilburn serves as Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Chief Legal and Compliance Officer, providing strategic counsel and guidance across an array of critical issues affecting the growth and success of the company and its business partners. His management oversight includes corporate governance, corporate ethics, public policy, growth and economic development, crisis management, regulatory compliance, public and community relations, contractual negotiations, insurance, risk and litigation.

After several years in private practice, Jeremy rejoined the team at Wayne-Sanderson Farms in 2015, assuming the role of Assistant Vice President and Deputy General Counsel before being named Vice President and General Counsel in 2016. He previously served with the company as an Associate Counsel from 2002 until 2005 before starting his own legal practice where he advised corporate clients of all sizes on a wide variety of issues, including contracts, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance labor issues and employment law, and he represented his clients in both state and federal courts.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in animal science, with minors in agricultural economics and chemistry, and received his master’s degree in poultry science from the University of Georgia, specializing in nutrition and publishing a number of articles in scientific journals. Jeremy completed his Juris Doctor degree at the University of Georgia in 2000.
