What to expect at the maintenance hiring event?

  • Only candidates who have submitted an RSVP to attend the hiring event via the below link will be granted entry into the facility.
  • Candidates should wear closed-toe shoes for plant tour.
  • Upon arrival at Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ facility, job seekers will check-in at the gate.
  • Candidates will then be directed to a designated parking spot.
  • If the candidate has not already applied for a position with Wayne-Sanderson Farms online, they will be instructed to do so from the vehicle using their smart phone. If you do not have a mobile device, on-site computers will be available to complete an application.
  • After check-in and online application are complete, candidates will proceed inside the facility to the receptionist.
  • Please bring a valid photo identification with you.
  • Applicants will then have drug and physical screenings conducted.
  • If applicants pass drug and physical screenings, a background check will be conducted.
  • If candidates’ background check is approved, they will be scheduled for orientation.
  • All individuals will exit the property immediately upon conclusion of the hiring process.

While terms and conditions will apply, maintenance positions also qualify for a $1,500 sign and stay bonus earned over a 90-day period.

Skilled Maintenance

Job Description:

Starting at $24.64 per hour

While terms and conditions will apply, maintenance positions also qualify for a $1,500 sign and stay bonus earned over a 90-day period.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair basic electrical wiring, motors and allied equipment.
  • Maintain all equipment, machinery, buildings and grounds.
  • Perform welding and torch cutting as required.
  • Install, maintain and repair all equipment and machinery used in the processing plant.
  • Read and use blueprints and schematic diagrams as directed.
  • Perform other duties as directed by management.
  • Capable of being able to participate on company Emergency Response Team, including passing physical and obtain skills and training necessary to be qualified as an Emergency Response Technician and Incident Commander, including but not limited to being clean shaven with no facial hair that could interfere with a respirator.

Position Requirements:

In addition to meeting the basic qualifications for new employees, the employee must also meet the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have the ability to work in emergency situations under adverse conditions.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Must have ability to work long hours and willingness to work various shifts.
  • Must have a good general mechanical ability.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing or processing maintenance. 2 years of technical school experience from an accredited technical school may be substituted for on the job experience.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold)
  • Must be able to work in wet/humid conditions
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work in a noisy environment
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds
  • Must be able to climb a ladder
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment at all times
  • May be required to work Holidays or weekend

Master Skilled Maintenance

Job Description:

Starting at $27.27 per hour

While terms and conditions will apply, maintenance positions also qualify for a $1,500 sign and stay bonus earned over a 90-day period.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Operate, install, maintain and repair all plant refrigeration.
  • Install, maintain and repair all electrical wiring, motors and allied equipment, and have ability to repair and maintain the plant’s electrical system from the main switchgear to the motor. Have advanced knowledge of AC motor controls.
  • Operate, install, maintain and repair steam plant equipment.
  • Perform welding and torch cutting as required.
  • Maintain and repair all equipment and machinery used in the processing plant, and have the ability to organize and complete any renovation or installation of plant equipment.
  • Read and use blueprints and schematic diagrams as directed.
  • Have the ability to disassemble, repair, and completely rebuild automated equipment. Have the ability to maintain acceptable performance from automated equipment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor and superintendent.
  • Capable of being able to participate on company Emergency Response Team, including passing physical and obtain skills and training necessary to be qualified as an Emergency Response Technician and Incident Commander including but not limited to being clean shaven with no facial hair that could interfere with a respirator.

Position Requirements:

  • Must Have A Working Knowledge Of Electronics, And Be Able To Repair, Maintain And Program Computer Operated Equipment.
  • Must Have The Ability To Train Others.
  • Must Have Ability To Work Long Hours And Willingness To Work Various Shifts.
  • Must Have The Ability To Operate A Shift In The Absence Of A Supervisor.
  • Must Have A Minimum Of 5 Years’ Experience In Industrial Manufacturing Or Processing Maintenance.
  • Technical School Experience Will Qualify For Up To 2 Years’ Experience From An Accredited Technical School.
  • Must Be Able To Work In Extreme Temperatures (Hot And Cold).
  • Must Be Able To Work In Wet/Humid Conditions.
  • Must Be Able To Stand For Long Periods Of Time.
  • Must Be Able To Work In An Area That Requires Hearing Protection.
  • Must Be Able To Bend, Stoop, Twist, Reach And Lift Heavy Objects Up To 70 Pounds.
  • Must Be Able To Climb A Ladder.
  • Must Be Able To Wear All Required Personal Protective Equipment At All Times.
  • May Be Required To Work Holidays And Weekends
