What to expect at the hiring event?
- Upon arrival at Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ facility, job seekers will check-in at the gate.
- Candidates will be directed to a designated parking area.
- If the candidate has not already applied for a position with Wayne-Sanderson Farms online, they will be instructed to do so using their smart phone. If you do not have a mobile device, onsite computers will be available to complete an application.
- After check-in and online application are complete, you will proceed through an eligibility process.
- Additional screenings and an interview will be conducted.
- Please bring a valid photo identification with you.
- A background check will be conducted.
- If applicants pass background check, screenings will be conducted for drug and physical.
- If candidate’s drug and physical screenings are clear, they will be scheduled for orientation.
- All individuals will exit the property immediately upon conclusion of the hiring process.

Master Skilled Maintenance I
Job Description:
$30.02 per hour
Master Skilled Maintenance I open positions are available on first, second and third shifts. Shift times vary based on the area of the facility in which employees work. On first shift, employees will work from 6:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. On second shift, employees will work from 4p.m. until 1 a.m. On third shift, employees will work from 12 a.m. until 9 a.m. Shifts are approximately eight hours in length with employees working Monday – Friday with occasional work on Saturdays.
Major Responsibilities:
In addition to working safely, the employee must also be able to:
- Operate, install, maintain and repair all plant refrigeration.
- Install, maintain and repair all electrical wiring, motors and allied equipment, and have ability to repair and maintain the plant’s electrical system from the main switchgear to the motor. Have advanced knowledge of AC motor controls.
- Operate, install, maintain and repair steam plant equipment.
- Perform welding and torch cutting as required.
- Maintain and repair all equipment and machinery used in the processing plant, and have the ability to organize and complete any renovation or installation of plant equipment.
- Read and use blueprints and schematic diagrams as directed.
- Have the ability to disassemble, repair, and completely rebuild automated equipment. Have the ability to maintain acceptable performance from automated equipment.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor and superintendent.
- Capable of being able to participate on company Emergency Response Team, including passing physical and obtain skills and training necessary to be qualified as an Emergency Response Technician and Incident Commander including but not limited to being clean shaven with no facial hair that could interfere with a respirator.
Position Requirements:
In addition to meeting the basic qualifications for new employees, the employee must also meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have the ability to work in emergency situations under adverse conditions.
- Must have a working knowledge of electronics, and be able to repair, maintain and program computer operated equipment.
- Must have the ability to train others.
- Must have ability to work long hours and willingness to work various shifts.
- Must have the ability to operate a shift in the absence of a supervisor.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial manufacturing or processing maintenance.
- Technical school experience will qualify for up to 2 years’ experience from an accredited technical school.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
- Must be able to work in wet/humid conditions.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in an area that requires hearing protection.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds.
- Must be able to climb a ladder.
- Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
- May be required to work Holidays and weekends.
Mechanic
Job Description:
$21.14 per hour
Mechanic open positions are available on second shift. Shift times vary based on the area of the facility in which employees work. On second shift, employees will work from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. Shifts are approximately eight hours in length with employees working Monday – Friday with occasional work on Saturdays.
Major Responsibilities:
In addition to working safely, the employee must also be able to:
- Performs routine repair and maintenance of refrigeration and electrical systems.
- Performs routine maintenance on all equipment, machinery, buildings and grounds.
- Performs welding and torch cutting as needed.
- Assists skilled maintenance men in performance of their duties.
- Capable of being able to participate on company Emergency Response Team, including passing physical and obtain skills and training necessary to be qualified as an Emergency Response Technician and Incident Commander but not limited to being clean shaven with no facial hair that could interfere with a respirator.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
